Project Timeline
Aunt Minnie’s Farm is developing in phases. This timeline shows where the project is now, what is taking place on the land and how the wider vision is expected to evolve over time.
Early 1800s: The Beginning
The original homestead that the Cole family first lived in was an old house. Nothing remains of it today except a single sycamore tree growing where the building once stood.
1908: A Family Started
Peter Cole married Jane Woods. They went on to have five children. Minnie was the eldest of the children.
1919: Baby Lily
Sean’s Nan, Lily, was born. She was the youngest of 5 siblings. Minnie, Katie, Nellie, Henry & Lily.
1920s: Early Development
With the current home no longer suitable for the growing family, the Coles applied for a grant to build a new house. This new home boasted 2 fireplaces, which was very classy for its time.
1957: Baby Rosie is Born
Baby Rosie was welcomed into the Cole Family.
1981: Baby Sean is Born
Rosemary and Rory went on to have a baby called Sean.
2005: Liverpool Bound
Sean travelled to Liverpool, looking to expand his horizons, but knew Ireland would always be his home.
2020: A Spark of Nostalgia
After a great loss in the family Sean found himself wanting to feel more connected to the land and the properties in his hometown. He started visiting more frequently; hiking the hills and learning more about his heritage.
2027–2028: Planning and preparation
The next phase will include continued site preparation, deeper design development, further key stakeholder engagement and progress towards the approvals and practical steps needed for wider delivery.
2029–2031: Phased Future Development
Subject to planning and delivery, later phases may include broader visitor, wellbeing and accommodation elements that align with the longer-term vision for the farm.
Summary So Far
The purpose of the timeline is not to overstate what has already been achieved. It is to show progress honestly and help people understand how Aunt Minnie's Farm is being built in a measured and responsible way.
